Laboratory for calibration and validation participated in the prestigious 66th ETRAN and the 9th international IcETRAN conference taking place from June 6th to 9th, 2022 in Novi Pazar, where it presented two of its coauthored papers on the topic of color metrology and laser applications:
COLOR DESCRIPTION, HERITOLOGY AND METROLOGY
Human’s feeling for colors has many aspects, starting from perception of the world around, to medical terms that include color blindness. In addition, it also enables distinguishing the day and night, month or year. This paper presents several approaches to color and colorimetry, from aspects of various scientific disciplines. The authors discuss the role of lasers in the current problematics in quantitative definition of color and its indicators, as well as correct description of the state and operation of selected filters. The determination of color and its description has an important role in everyday life, as well as in certain technical and mass media applications, including human and technical sciences.
PROTO-CONCEPTUAL SOLUTIONS IN THE APPLICATION OF LASERS IN HERITOLOGY
Critical re-examination of the procedures applied in conservation and restoration of cultural heritage objects includes questions about the use of new technologies, such as lasers, in relation to classical approaches to protecting artifacts that have archaeological, historical or artistic value. The issue of ethics is viewed from several aspects related to material and non-material actions towards objects of protection, in the sense of fulfilling the assigned function of the selected technique, and under the conditions of the highest level of safety and environmental protection. In this paper, the focus of the research is the characterization of proto-conceptual solutions in the application of lasers on materials of heritage.
